March CVC Write the Room      

Check out this March CVC Write the Room on my Teachers Pay Teachers page.  This activity is perfect for engaging students in reading and writing CVC words. There are four themes included, each with twelve picture cards. The activity is designed to be used in small groups or as a center activity.

Themes:

1. Rainbow Kids
2. St. Patrick's Day Lions
3. Smiley Kids
4. Spring Hedgehogs

Included in this resource:

• 48 picture cards (12 for each theme)
• 16 differentiated recording sheets (4 for each theme)
• Instructions for use
• A list of all the words included on the cards for easy teacher reference

How to Use:

1. Print and laminate the picture cards.
2. Place the cards around the room.
3. Give each student a recording sheet based on their level (beginning sounds, beginning and ending sounds, all sounds on lines or all sounds on lines in boxes).
4. Students find the picture cards, read the words, and write them on their recording sheets.
5. Alternatively, use in small groups where students take turns reading the words and writing them on the recording sheet.

• Engages students in active learning.
• Reinforces CVC word recognition and writing skills.
• Encourages movement and exploration in the classroom.

Note: This activity can be adapted for different levels by using different recording sheets or providing support as needed.
